The Editor is the senior byline at Veta Madre Review, the hand on the tiller for our coverage of Colombian stocks and mining in Colombia.
Behind the byline is a long career spent in mining and financial media, and in capital markets on the junior resource side. That means a good many years reading drill tables, sitting through financings and learning, sometimes the hard way, the difference between a story and a deposit.
We keep the person anonymous on purpose. We would rather you judge the work by its sources and its reasoning than by a name or a résumé.
What that experience brings is a feel for the questions worth asking. How much of the money raised goes into the ground? Is that intercept a true width or a lucky angle? Where does the permit actually sit? The Editor tries to put those questions in front of readers following Colombian exploration companies, and to answer them from the record, not from a promoter’s slide deck.
The Editor also sets the tone of the place. Patient, plain-spoken and honest about risk. Exploration is a long walk with more dry holes than discoveries, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

The last stop before publication
The Editor approves everything we publish. That includes the work of The Reporter, our daily news byline. Every piece is read, every figure is checked against its source and nothing goes live without sign-off. The rules for that review are in our editorial standards.
Field note: Opinion and news are kept apart here. When The Editor offers a view, the piece says so. When it reports, it links the filing. Neither is investment advice. Any interest relevant to a story is disclosed, as set out in our disclosure policy.
