About

Veta Madre Review is a free, independent, English-language publication covering mining and mineral exploration in Colombia. Our descriptor is simple: Colombian Mining & Exploration. Our tagline, From Legend to Ledger, describes the journey we follow: from the old stories of Colombian gold to the filings, permits, drill results and balance sheets that decide whether a project gets built.

“Veta Madre” is Spanish for “mother vein”, the principal vein of ore that a mine is built around. We chose the name because our aim is to follow the main line of the story, not the noise around it.

Why Colombia

Colombia has a long mining history and a large share of its territory that has never been systematically explored. It produces gold, nickel and emeralds, and it is building a copper industry. It is also a jurisdiction where policy, permitting, community relations and security can change a project’s prospects quickly. That combination of geological potential and real-world complexity is hard to follow from Toronto, Vancouver or New York, especially when much of the primary reporting is in Spanish.

Who it is for

We write for North American investors, analysts, fund managers, bankers and industry professionals who want a clear, sourced view of what is happening in Colombian mining. We explain regulatory decisions, project milestones, financings and transactions in plain English, and we link to the primary sources so readers can check them.

Veta Madre Review is an educational resource. We do not make buy or sell recommendations and we do not publish price targets.

Who publishes it

Veta Madre Review is published by Tyvora Ventures, a Toronto-based capital-markets firm. Our editorial principles and disclosures are set out on our Disclosure & Editorial Policy page.
